Introduction

Welcome to The New Folium. These Community Guidelines explain how we expect everyone to behave and contribute on our platform.

02.

Our Community

We believe creativity flourishes in an environment built on respect, honesty, and professionalism.

03.

Original Work

Artists may only upload artwork they created and own, or have written permission to display.

Work generated by artificial intelligence is not accepted on The New Folium. This includes images produced by generative AI tools and work substantially derived from them. Using AI for incidental steps in an otherwise hand-made process, such as upscaling, background removal or colour correction, is fine.

If we believe a piece was generated by AI, we may remove it and ask you to tell us how it was made.

04.

Professional Conduct

The New Folium is designed for professional portfolio presentation.

05.

Respectful Behavior

We do not tolerate harassment, hate speech, bullying, discrimination, threats, or personal attacks.

06.

Accurate Information

Please ensure that your profile and portfolio information is accurate and honest.

07.

Appropriate Content

The New Folium is intended for professional creative portfolios. Every upload is checked automatically before it goes live, and some are held for a person to review.

We do not accept sexually explicit material, graphic violence, hateful or discriminatory imagery, any sexual content involving minors, or artwork generated by artificial intelligence. We also do not publish images of real weapons or drugs, or artwork with words written on it that we would not print ourselves.

Some work is held for a person to review rather than refused: nudity in a fine-art context, suggestive imagery, medical or anatomical illustration, photographs of people or places presented as artwork, and images that read as advertising. Being held for review is not a rejection.

If your work is not published, we will email you the reason. You can reply to that email to ask us to look again.

08.

Copyright & Intellectual Property

Respect intellectual property rights. Do not upload artwork that infringes another person's legal rights.

09.

Commercial Integrity

Please represent your work honestly and do not claim rights you do not own.

10.

Reporting Content

If you encounter content that violates these guidelines, please let us know. The fastest way is the Report button on any artwork or on an artist's profile — pick a reason and tell us what you see. Reports are private: the artist never sees who sent them. You can also write to hello@thenewfolium.com. Every report is read by a person.

11.

Enforcement

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts when necessary.

12.

Updates to These Guidelines

These guidelines may change as The New Folium evolves.
